[1] Does writing energize or exhaust you?

If I’m honest, it can do both. Exhaust and energize. Writing energizes me because it is what I love to do. It is what challenges my thinking. It is what I wish I could do for a living, sun up and sundown. Writing can exhaust me if I know little to nothing of a topic and begin researching all the facts. The exhaustion I feel usually is motivated by making sure I gain the accuracy needed to pull the article together. I’m all about precision and facts because it strengthens what you hope to convey as a writer.

[2] What is one food that represents the country you are currently in?

I am in the United States. Baltimore, Maryland, to be exact. Undebateable Maryland has the best crabs out of all 50 states. People come all over to eat Maryland crabs. Maryland is known for having the best crabs. I eat crabs religiously in the summer. Next to Maryland, unquestionably, I would say Louisiana is next in line. When it comes to Louisiana, I love all of their Cajun and seafood, though.

[3] What type of friend would you like to be?

AUTHENTIC!
LOVING!
EMBRACING!

[4] What have you given up on?

I am speaking for myself only.

I gave up on Corporate America and my mindset towards it years ago. Chasing the corporate dream is unrealistic because that lifestyle doesn’t pan out the same for everyone, particularly women. Women get the short end of the stick in corporate America. In a world where women leadership is on the rise, only eight percent of CEOs at Fortune 500 companies are women. Add being a woman color to that, and that fight is on a whole other level of its own.

[5] What is one thing you’re committed to learning more about?

Since the beginning of the Pandemic, I couldn’t get out to the nail salon, so I’ve religiously binge-watched YouTube videos on how to do nails, and I can honestly say I’m almost there. I love it. It is like a form of meditation.
